Farmhouse - Villa - House
Gambassi Terme (Firenze)
Thirty years ago most of the ruined farmhouses in Tuscany were brought and converted into villas by foreigners who wanted to live in the remote countryside in Italy. Now very few such ruins remain unrenovated in this prime area of Italy. The local by laws in Tuscany prevent any new buildings being constructed in the countryside, but by reconstructing a ruin this can achieved, using the original footprint for a completely new building, reconstructed in the tradtional style. This works out to be a cost effective way to get a property in Tuscany.
Whilst this farmhouse has now largely collapsed, the photos from 1993 show a substantial double story house with at least four bedrooms on the first floor, devided into two apartments, with an attractive arched room below which would make a perfect studio.
The farmhouse is beautifully situated overlooking fields and forrested hillsides in a pristine countryside, with no man made sounds or sights. A must-see for those with the vision to build a dream house in Tuscany.
A field of wheat and olives ajoining the property may also be available.
The farmhouse is a sub division of the neighbouring property which provides access and easy connectivity, with the possibility of rental of this farmhouse whilst construction is in process.
